Since they never drop to below 2200 in a very long time because OSRS gold they have an alch value of 2380, you are able to purchase them between 2200 and 2500 and sell them for 2300-2350. Herb running (in definition) is the running between all the herb patches usually in the most efficient method. It takes a while for people to develop the best route to run through the green wetland (forget that name) and the one near draynor manor that is north of ardyand the one in Catherby as well as (if you complete the quest) the patch at Trollheim.

The objective of the garden is to choose (usually) an economically profitable seeds of the herb which will generate the greatest profit after harvesting. I'm not sure of what is the ideal starting point, or even the current price. However, I would probably not suggest starting at your current level until you've got access to buy OSRS GP some more herb options.
