LG Display to Showcase Transparent OLED at International Motor Show

From September 7th to 12th, LG Display, a display technology leader, will exhibit its latest Transparent OLED technology at the International Motor Show (IAA) 2021 in Munich, Germany.

LG Display's 55-inch Transparent OLED panels can provide entertainment and education to public transit services when replacing vehicle windows. Transparent OLED screens will also be used to replace windows in many types of vehicles.

Samsung unveils two 55-inch OLED panels. IGU (Insulated Glass Unit) technology provides impact and vibration resistance. The OLED can adjust to bright settings and changing light conditions with Gauzy's SPD Smart Glass technology.

Transparent OLED panels can replace all greenhouse glass, providing both information and a view of the outside.

In addition to suppressing up to 99 percent of light, SPD technology allows for great contrast and rich colors day and night. Transparent OLED is the future of signs in both the automotive and architectural environments.

Passengers may watch transportation information and entertainment material while advertising their products on LG Display's Transparent OLED screens for mobility.

For the first time in Europe, LG Display's Transparent OLED business head Cho Min-Woo remarked. "LG Display's Transparent OLED will allow companies to display information in eye-catching spatial and interior effects."

LG Display built the world's first transparent OLED screens for transportation on metro trains in Beijing and Shenzhen, China. EJRC's implementation of these futuristic displays on overground trains won the Digital Signage Consortium's Outstanding Performance Award.

On planes and cars, the company showcased OLED's promise in the mobility industry at CES 2020. LG Display took Transparent OLED beyond the car, transforming how we eat sushi and watch TV from the bedside.

Currently, LG's Transparent OLED is in use Transparent OLED and Kakao Mobility recently placed panels at Seoul's Trade Tower parking lot. These quirky panels liven up an otherwise dull parking garage. OLED displays content cleanly and provides for spectacular interior spatial effects.

A popular Korean fashion store also uses LG Display's Transparent OLED screens to display brand advertisements while enhancing the store's ambiance.

Transparent OLED screens reduce space and enhance the product and user experience. OLED displays lack a backlight and are self-emissive, allowing for maximum transparency and flexibility. LG Display plans to utilize Transparent OLED panels in autonomous cars, planes, and maybe furniture.
