Jagex, the creators of RS Gold has joined forces with tabletop gaming company Steamforged Games to create both an online board game as well as a tabletop roll-playing game (TTRPG) the book that is that is inspired by the lush fantasy the world of Gielinor.

Both games are set to delight RuneScape in particular and Old School RuneScape's player communities with new and faithful renditions of old-fashioned characters and quests that blend iconic elements of the games into thrilling sensory experiences, reimagined specifically for tabletop gaming.In order to help them accomplish this, powerful relics of the past have been scattered across the globe for players to earn by playing minigames, gaining skill, as well as defeating powerful bosses. Runescape and Outriders aren't two games that players will consider playing together therefore, having a Runescape player addressing r/Outriders could be a shock. However, it led to an interesting discussion and post between fans of each and/or both games. It all boils down to a single old Jagex Employee: David Osborne, otherwise known to the Runescape community as Mod Osborne.

Osborne recently made it clear on LinkedIn that he's resigning from Jagex after fifteen years of editing content story design, narrative design, and lead design. It's a choice he made, as he describes, to "test his experiences with the rest of the industry." Osborne is leaving Jagex and will go straight to Square Enix on the publishing side, as a Senior Designer. He'll be responsible for "some amazing games" starting with Cheap RS Gold.

The revelation prompted Redditor FatNWackyRS to contact the Outriders on r/Outriders, with a short message about Mod Osborne, describing him as the "warm, friendly "Dad" face at Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes everything that Osborne has done for the community throughout the years, with a focus on clips, like acting as Mod Elfborne to promote Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) in livestreams, joining and assisting with the company's vision.
